Independent Living Skills Instruction

The agency provides supported employment and vocational rehabilitation services for people with disabilities. Services include adult day programs, developmental disabilities day habilitation programs, disability related center based employment, independent living skills instruction, supported employment, vocational assessment and vocational rehabilitation. There are no geographic restrictions.
The Supported Employment Program (SEP) provides unsubsidized employment for adults, age 18 and older, with disabilities. Services include supported employment. The program accepts referrals from the Department of Rehabilitation and from the Regional Centers. In most cases, employers who participate in the program agree to hire the individual with the disability as a regular employee. Wages and benefits are provided by the employer at the same level that they are provided for non-program employees. The employer agrees to participate in the on-the-job training component by allowing an agency job coach to work at the business and provide hands-on assistance. Support services are provided by the agency for the life of the job. Occupations vary based on the individual. Full-time and part-time employment opportunities are available.
The agency Work Activity Program (WAP) provides day program services for individuals 18 and older. Services include adult day programs, developmental disabilities day habilitation programs, disability related center based employment, vocational assessment and vocational rehabilitation.
The Build Options Program provides behavior management for people with disabilities, including developmental disabilities, within the WAP.
The Independent Living Skills Program (ILS) assists disabled adults in learning how to live independently and maximize community integration and participation. Services include independent living skills instruction.
