Transitional Housing/Shelter (Former Foster Children)

Provider: YOUTH EMERGING STRONGER

The program provides transitional housing for at risk youth age 18 to 24, including LGBTQ youth and former foster youth (TAY), who are experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles County. Service includes transitional housing/shelter. Age restrictions apply; there are no geographic restrictions. 

The average length of stay is 18 to 24 months and is determined on a case by case basis.

Services for residents include, but are not limited to, basic needs, case management, permanency planning, family reunification counseling, mental health therapy, education and employment readiness, tutoring and mentoring, life skills training, and aftercare planning and support.

Call to apply for transitional housing; or email ccrandall@layn.org or vherrera@layn.org to receive an application packet and to set up an eligibility screening. Applicants must not have any current DCFS involvement and meet HUD definition of homelessness.
