Neighborhood Revitalization

This program provides public works services in the Sylmar area. Services include graffiti removal services, neighborhood revitalization, technical assistance for groups and volunteer opportunities. Services are restricted to the Sylmar area. The programs sponsors clean-up campaigns in an effort to create a cleaner community in Sylmar. In addition, the agency provides information and technical assistance for other cities to help them establish neighborhood improvement programs.
The agency removes graffiti from public and private property throughout the community of Sylmar and encourages residents of Sylmar to organize clean-up activities in their neighborhoods. Staff assist neighborhoods to plan successful clean-up campaigns and residents perform the actual work themselves.
The agency also provides information and technical assistance for communities outside Sylmar who want to start community improvement programs.
