Memory Screening

The program provides services for older adults and their families in Los Angeles county. Services include dementia management, geriatric assessment, geriatric counseling, medication monitoring, mutual support groups for families of frail/dependent elderly and for families of people with Alzheimer's disease, public awareness/education on aging issues, and specialized information and referral for older adults. There are no geographic restrictions.

The Specialized Ambulatory Geriatric Evaluation (S AGE) center provides the following services: geriatric diagnosis and counseling; management of memory/cognitive deficits, depression, dementia and difficult behaviors, falling, complex medical problems; and medication monitoring. The evaluation includes functional, medical, psychosocial and cognitive assessments as well as neurocognitive testing and re-training. Memory screening is also available.

The program also provides public awareness/education for older adults, caregivers, professionals and adult children of aging parents. Presentations for the community include Alzheimer's Disease, Safety for Seniors, Aging Changes, Memory Enhancement and other aging issues. br>
Specialized information and referral for older adults includes referrals for adult day care, case management, community placement, primary care doctors, and senior services.
