Arts and Crafts Instruction (Preschool Age Children)

The department administers parks, a recreation center, and athletic, recreational, and family activities for people of all ages who live in the Lomita area. There are no geographic restrictions.
Parks include Hathaway Park, Irene Lewis Park, Lomita Recreation Center, Veteran's Park, Teuchert Park and Metro Park. Most of the activities, programs, and classes are held at the recreation center. Sports include basketball, golf and tennis for adults and children, volleyball for women and children, and soccer for children. The center also offers dance, gymnastics and martial arts for children and dance for adults. Recreational and family activities include a dog obedience training course which the department co-sponsors with the Lomita Dog Obedience Training Club and special holiday activities. There is a senior citizens social group and senior exercise classes.
