Disease/Disability Information

Provider: PARKINSON'S RESOURCE ORGANIZATION

The program provides health services related to Parkinson's Disease for people who live in Los Angeles County. Services include disease/disability information, health related support groups, printed materials, referrals to respite care agencies and specialized information and referral. There are no geographic restrictions.

Disease/disability information is given to people with Parkinson's disease, their families or caregivers as well as anyone who wants information on the disease. The program may provide printed materials on the disease or may provide specialized information and referrals through their website to doctors, service providers, insurers and Medicare/Medi-Cal; and also produces a monthly newsletter.

The program offers referrals for obtaining respite care to allow caregivers a break from their daily routines. The organization networks with caregiving organizations to provide the service.

Support groups meet at various locations throughout Southern California.
