Transitional Housing/Shelter

The program provides shelter for battered women and men, including transgender individuals, and their children age 17 and younger. Single women may also be accepted. There is a 72-hour hold upon entering the shelter and residents are asked to take a leave from their jobs for their first 30 days in the shelter. The shelter accepts emancipated minors and pregnant women. The shelter will serve women who have hearing impairments. There are no geographic restrictions.

A transitional shelter program, Haven Two, is available for clients after they leave the emergency shelter. Families may stay up to 18 months. Support services include case management, job counseling and referrals; group and individual counseling for children; individual, group, and family counseling; educational workshops to build skills and self-esteem; life skills and parenting workshops; and permanent housing assistance.
