Temporary Restraining Orders

The department provides law enforcement services for the city of El Monte. Services include abandoned vehicle reporting, crime prevention, drug crime reporting, emergency protective orders, juvenile delinquency prevention, juvenile delinquency diversion counseling, law enforcement complaints, municipal police, and temporary restraining order services. The service area for most services is restricted to the city of El Monte.

Drug reporting services include a Narcotics and Vice Reporting Tip Line. The tip line offers the public an opportunity to provide information anonymously or confidentially to the Narcotics Task Force of the El Monte Police Department about narcotics activity in El Monte.

Temporary restraining order (TRO) assistance is provided on a short term (72 hrs.), emergency basis only. Regular TROs must be applied for at a Superior Court location.

The agency also investigates and takes appropriate action in reported cases of child abuse and neglect. A community relations section provides programs which address juvenile delinquency diversion and prevention.
