HIV Testing

The agency provides HIV/AIDS services for people in Los Angeles county. Services are targeted to low-income, Spanish,-speaking people from two locations. Services include case/care management for individuals with AIDS/HIV, AIDS/HIV prevention counseling and AIDS treatment, confidential HIV testing and aids drug assistance programs. There are no geographic restrictions.
AIDS prevention is provided through community outreach and presentations. Community outreach is provided by counselors who speak to individuals about HIV transmission and distribute literature and prevention kits. Kits contain condoms, bleach, funnels and AIDS literature. Presentations about HIV/AIDS are made to community groups and schools.
AIDS treatment includes early intervention and outpatient medical treatment for people who have AIDS or who are HIV . Services include monitoring of the client's immune system, nutrition education, medication services, laboratory tests, specialized medical-related information and referral, x-rays, and treatment for HIV-related illnesses.
The center enrolls patients for the AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP), which provides FDA-approved HIV-related drugs at little or no cost to those who are eligible; call for more information.
