Wildland Fire Preparedness Information

This is administrative site of the Los Angeles County Fire Department. There are no direct services provided to the public through this office. Information is available regarding the delivery of abandoned baby services, emergency response services, fire prevention services, hazardous materials clean-up, life guard services, and terrorist response services. The L A County Fire Department - Division of Forestry provides information about hazardous oak trees. Services are provided to residents of Los Angeles County, unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County, and cities that contract with the department. There are no geographic restrictions.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department is providing an updated 16 page Personal Wildfire Action Plan brochure called Ready-Set-Go as well as a step-by-step video guide to assist residents living in wildfire prone areas. The brochure and video guide provides information for residents on creating defensible space around the home, retrofitting the home with fire-resistant material and preparing to safely evacuate well ahead of the wildfire. The brochure is designed to provide residents with critical information to help educate, prepare and evacuate for an emergency. Both the brochure and video guide are available online at www.fire.lacounty.gov/rsg and individuals can also request a free hard copy of the brochure by emailing at info@fire.lacounty.gov or by calling the agency's main phone number.
