Child Care Expense Assistance

The agency provides financial assistance for child care services to people living in the Westside and South Bay areas of Los Angeles County. Services include child care subsidies for residents and for TANF recipients. Geographic restrictions apply.
The agency assists people with partial or full child care subsidy. People who are eligible choose the child care program and the agency reimburses the provider. In addition, the agency may subsidize the cost of preschool and infant care for eligible Santa Monica families, support short-term child care services for families who are under stress and at risk for child abuse, and provide support consultations with a child development or mental health professional for problems experienced by a child, parent, or provider.

Application Procedure
Call or walk in to request an application; eligible families are ranked according to need and are contacted when subsidized child care child care is available.
Fees
There are no fees to apply for child care financial assistance; depending upon income, families may be subject to a co-payment / fee for child care subsidy.
