Supported Living Services for Adults With Disabilities

The agency provides center based and in-home services for people with special needs in Los Angeles County. Services include developmentally disabled social /recreational programs, independent living skills instruction, social learning for maladaptive behaviors, and supported living services for developmentally disabled adults. There are no geographic restrictions.

The program provides developmentally disabled social and recreational programs. The program includes social and recreational activities as well as occasional educational classes. The program acts more like a drop-in center, not a day program.

Independent living skills may be offered at agency facilities or in the home of the client. Those eligible for the in-home services include people who have developmental disabilities, those who are physically disabled, the chronically ill and the elderly. Services offered mobility training, supportive living training, independent living skills training, self-advocacy training, managed care for the elderly, clinical counseling for the chronically ill, and community social integration. All services are available in the home of the client and at the centers.

Social Dynamics is a social behavior management program that utilizes positive reinforcement and a therapeutic method of shaping appropriate social behaviors for adults with developmental disabilities.
