Vision Insurance

The agency provides health related spend down insurance plans for recipients of Medi-Cal who, because of their income, must assume a Share of Cost responsiblity for Medi-Cal coverage. The service includes dental insurance and vision insurance. There are income guidelines; however there are no geographic restrictions.

Share of Cost Medi-Cal is an option for people whose income is too high for regular Medi-Cal coverage but not high enough to afford most private health insurance. The program provides an insurance policy to cover the Share-of-Cost spend down expenses. The agency has a variety of dental and vision insurance providers that offer a range of premium and coverage options. Many of the plans offered are instant issue with no health underwriting qualifications. Therefore, most recipients are guaranteed coverage under this program.
