Ongoing Emergency Food Assistance

The program provides emergency food for people who live in Compton, Lynwood, Paramount and South Gate. Services include no cook food, ongoing emergency food assistance and a soup kitchen. The service area for the no cook food and soup kitchen is restricted to Compton, Lynwood, Paramount and South Gate residents. The service area for the ongoing emergency food assistance is restricted to zip codes 90051, 90052, 90059, 90061, 90062, 90082, 90220, 90221, 90222, 90223, 90224, 90247, 90248, 90249, 90262, 90746 and 90747.

The program provides no cook food in the form of snack packs. Fruit, cereal and other snack foods are included in the snack packs.

Hot meals are provided one night a week for families, couples and individuals who are homeless or without cooking facilities. The meal is prepared and served by members of neighborhood churches. People may receive this assistance as often as needed.

The bag of food is provided once every 30 days and consists of canned goods and dry goods such as cereal and pasta.
