Crime Victim/Witness Counseling (Children)

The agency provides victims of crime support for children age 3 to 18 and their families who live in Bellflower, Downey, East Los Angeles, El Monte, Hawaiian Gardens, Long Beach, Norwalk, Pico Rivera, San Pedro, South Gate, Whittier and Wilmington. Services include crime victim/witness counseling, domestic violence support groups, parenting skills classes and single fathers support groups. Geographic restrictions apply.

Crime victim services can be provided in the home. The types of crime include, but are not limited to domestic violence, physical abuse, sexual abuse and survivors of murdered family members. Services are available for children, adolescents and adults.

Application Procedure
Call to apply. Referrals from Department of Children and Family Services, juvenile court, Victim Witness program and family self-referrals are accepted. For free service to victims of crime the crime must have been reported to local law enforcement and/or a permanent restraining order has been obtained and is active. Proof of income is required for the sliding scale fees.
Fees
There are no fees for victims of crime who meet eligibility for the California Victims Compensation Program; There are no fees for the support groups or parenting classes. For the virtual sexual abuse awareness and prevention class the fee $360.
