This is the government office for the city of Lancaster. Services include election information, city information lines, business licensing, building and occupancy inspections, permits, recreation, city maintenance, city/town council offices, planning and zoning, and trash/garbage and large item trash/garbage pickup. Geographic restrictions apply for some services; business-related services are provided only for businesses located in Lancaster.
The city provides building permits, electrical permits, elevator permits, mechanical permits and plumbing permits for any contracted work done within city limits.
City maintenance includes street maintenance, street construction/repair, pothole/road repair and street cleaning.
The city provides special incentives for businesses in the city including tax credits based on the number of employees, assistance for small businesses, economic incentives for businesses manufacturing recycled products, and personalized credit packages for businesses relocating to Lancaster.

Application Procedure
Call or walk in for information or service or to apply for a business license. A business ombudsman is available to assist with the business license application process.
For large item trash/garbage pick up, call the Waste Management number or email home.wm.com/Lancaster at least 48 hours in advance.
