The police department provides 24 hour law enforcement services for the city of Irwindale. Services include abandoned vehicle reporting, an anti-street racing program, business watch, crime prevention, emergency protective orders, law enforcement complaints, municipal police, neighborhood watch programs, officer bill programs, and temporary restraining orders. The service area is restricted to the city of Irwindale.
Temporary restraining order assistance is provided on a short term (72 hrs.), emergency basis only. Regular TROs must be applied for at a Superior Court location.
The department offers a police explorer program for youth age 14 to 18 from any nearby area. The explorer program is designed to help youth learn about police work and to prevent delinquency.
