Crime Victim Compensation

Provider: CALIFORNIA STATE DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS AND REHABILITATION - DIVISION OF ADULT PAROLE OPERATIONS

The program provides victim notification and restitution services for victims, witnesses, and parents or guardians of minor victims of crime by inmates of the state prison system. The program also allows victims to have input to the conditions of parole and Board of Prison Terms hearings.

The notification program sends notice of an inmate's pending release from state prison, parole hearing, or death.

The restitution program reimburses the victim for lost wages or support, medical costs, psychological counseling expenses and other crime-related costs. LANGUAGES OTHER THAN ENGLISH The toll free phone number has access to translation services in any language. The form is available in English only.
