Child Health and Disability Prevention Exams

The center provides primary health care for adults and children in Los Angeles County. Services include Child Health Disability Prevention (CHDP) exams; contraception and family planning; general medical care for adults; pediatrics, and a women's clinic that includes prenatal care. Ancillary services include health education, medical social work, and nutrition education programs. Services are restricted to L A County residents.

CHDP provides regular, preventive health assessments and developmental assessments for children from birth to age 21 who are Medi-Cal eligible and for children from birth through age 18 whose family income is less than 200% of the federal poverty level. The check-ups are offered at set intervals and may include the required Head Start or State Preschool and pre-first grade exams.

There is a fixed fee of $60 per visit; patients are screened for eligibility for Medi-Cal, Medicare, Family PACT and Cancer Detection Program.
