Women's Advocacy Groups
Provider: CALIFORNIA NATIONAL ORGANIZATION FOR WOMEN - SAN GABRIEL VALLEY
This is a civil rights organization whose purpose is to promote feminist advocacy and to enhance women's participation in the mainstream of American society with full privileges and responsibilities, free of discrimination. NOW membership is open to women, and men. This chapter primarily serves the San Gabriel Valley and Whittier but there are no geographical restrictions.
The San Gabriel Valley/Whittier chapter holds one meeting each month for members and the general public. The chapter also offers an opportunity for members to become involved in a variety of task forces which address issues including pay equity, education, and reproductive rights. It also provides limited information about local agencies and services which are sensitive to women's needs and produces a newsletter.
