The agency provides government regulatory agency services for individuals in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties. Services include coastal environmental protection and management and water quality assurance. There are no geographic restrictions.
The board is responsible for regulating water rights, administering Clean Water Act grants and loans, and protecting water quality.
The agency implements programs that address prevention, clean-up, and containment regulations that apply to ground water as well as programs and activities that relate to the protection of Coastal water including research, monitoring, and regulatory oversight.
The agency also provides information for the public about the State Water Resources Control Board and about state water quality control regulations and programs.
