Physical Fitness

The agency provides recreational programs for people of all ages. Membership is required for participation in activities. Services include day camps, extended day care, lifeguard training, parent/infant swimming instruction, physical fitness, prenatal fitness, recreational activities/sports, water safety education and Y facilities. There are no geographic restrictions.
Programs also include year-round athletics; extended day care for local school children in grades K through 6; swimming instruction; aquatic exercise classes for pregnant women and new mothers; and lifesaving/lifeguarding certification for members age 15 and older.
Camping programs include day, holiday, resident, summer and overnite trip camping programs.
Physical fitness programs are for people ages 14 and older and include aerobics, fitness classes, cycling, running, weight training, and "Queenex", Active Older Adult classes. Complete fitness evaluations are also available.
Recreation programs include competitive and recreational badminton, basketball, gymnastics, karate, paddle tennis, racquetball and volleyball.
Swimming instruction and water safety programs include aquatic exercise classes for people of all ages, competitive and recreational swimming, and gym/pool movement programs for parents and tots age three months to three years, children age three to five, children in grades one through four, and seniors.
Special interest activities include parent/child programs designed to enhance family relationships for families which include children in kindergarten through grade three, coed junior and senior high school recreational and personal enrichment clubs and field trips and structured recreational programs for children three to five years of age. Therapeutic massage is available for members; non-members pay additional fees. Child care is available for members while participating in activities.
