Mentoring Services Volunteer Opportunities

The agency provides volunteer opportunities to adults age 18 years or older, living in Los Angeles County. Services include mentoring services volunteer opportunities. There are some geographic restrictions; please contact the agency for more information.

Mentors work to empower youth to reach their fullest potential and to guide them toward positive development by being a positive role model. Mentors and mentees enjoy each others company while participating in activities such as hiking, visiting museums, playing sports, or reading.

Volunteer mentors must have a CA drivers license, have access to a safe vehicle (no motorcycles or scooters), and have current car insurance. Volunteers are not asked to take or pass any tests, however, the agency completes background checks for criminal records, checks DMV records, contacts references and conducts a thorough interview. Mentoring service volunteers are required to commit to volunteer 3 to 5 hours, 2 times a month, for a period of 1 year minimum. LANGUAGES OTHER THAN ENGLISH Volunteers are not required to speak languages other than English, however, the agency seeks volunteers who speak Spanish.
