Ongoing Emergency Food Assistance

The program provides emergency food for people who live in Whittier, Santa Fe Springs and La Mirada. Services include bags of groceries through a food line for individuals, couples and families. People may be assisted once or twice per week, depending on size of household, on an ongoing basis. Groceries include canned food, dried packaged goods and some perishable items including fresh produce and bread. The program also provides sack lunches daily for people who are homeless. Services are restricted to Whittier, Santa Fe Springs and La Mirada residents.

Application Procedure
Walk in for service; registration is required. CADL or CAID for head of household; identification for all other household members; a current utility bill or rental agreement; and proof of income are required for emergency food. Identification and utility bill must have the same address.
Registration accepted January through September. In November and December, will assist with canned and dry goods on an emergency basis.
CAID or CADL is required for sack lunches.

Walk in for Service Service hours
Intake hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 8:30am to 12:00pm. Intake appointments are by phone only. Distribution hours are Monday, Tuesday and Friday, 8:30am to 12:00pm. Makeup Day is Tuesday, 4:30pm to 6:30pm. Participants pick up food on distribution day indicated on their card.
