Child Care Centers

The agency provides child care and early education development for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years who live in Arleta, Boyle Heights, Canoga Park, Lincoln Heights, Lynwood, Maywood, North Hollywood, Pacoima, Panorama City, Pico Union District, San Fernando and Van Nuys. Services include administrative entities, child care centers, child care providers, and infant care centers and preschools. There are no geographic restrictions.

To be eligible for service, the family must meet low-income guidelines and parents must be employed, seeking employment, involved in an educational or vocational training program, or unable to work because of a disability. CPS families are prioritized for services. Families are screened for eligibility before enrollment.

The goal of the program is to create a bilingual, multicultural environment that reflects the values of these families and responds to their needs. A developmentally-focused curriculum based on the High Scope method is offered at each of the day care centers; children are served a nutritionally balanced breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack. Social support services and referrals to other available community resources are also provided.
