Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health
Provider: ALL FOR KIDS - HEADQUARTERS
The agency provides mental health services for families with children ages birth to 21 years who have full scope Medi-Cal. Services include behavior modification, case/care management, child guidance, developmental assessment, developmental screening, infant and early childhood mental health, women's support groups and wraparound facilitation/community support. Age restrictions apply; there are geographic restrictions for some programs.
The Developmental Screening program for children, age zero to five years, is offered to parents who have concerns about the developmental progress of their child. Children are screened by agency professional staff in the clinic setting, child's home, or preschool location. Parents are then provided with the results and recommendations for further services and/or offered education in strategies in working with their child on their skills deficits.
Medi-Cal eligible youth, 1 to 18 years of age, may receive developmental assessment services and behavior modification therapy through the CHDP program. Developmental assessments are diagnostic evaluations that more deeply evaluate the child's skills in five areas: cognitive, socio-emotional, gross motor skills, fine motor skills, and language development.
Treatment services include outpatient mental health; individual, family and group therapy; parenting education; and case management. The agency works with the entire family including parents, guardians, and siblings during counseling. Staff also provide medication and monitoring, and community outreach. Staff are trained in Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), Incredible Years (IY), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
The Wraparound facilitation/community support program is provided for court-referred youth in probation or in DCFS child abuse or foster care programs. Wraparound is conducted by a multi-disciplinary team consisting of a social worker case manager, a therapist and a parent "Partner". Sessions are conducted in the home and may involve just the child or the whole family as needed. The program accepts youth from age 8 to 18, and may continue for one year or longer. The service area is SPA 1.
