Public Awareness/Education (LGBTQ2+ Issues)

Provider: EQUALITY CALIFORNIA INSTITUTE

This is a statewide LGBTQ civil rights organization that operates at the local, state and national levels. Services include gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender advocacy groups, leadership development for gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender issues and public awareness/education for gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender issues. There are no geographic restrictions.

The group works to elect pro-equality leaders in government, pass pro-equality legislation in Sacramento and Washington DC, fight for LGBTQ civil rights and social justice in the courtroom, and reduce disparities in LGBTQ health and well-being through education and advocacy.

The organization provides a Leadership Academy program to identify LGBTQ leaders and train, mentor and support them to prepare for leadership roles as elected or appointed government officials or on corporate boards.
