THE AGENCY DOES NOT PROVIDE EMERGENCY SHELTER FOR FAMILIES. The agency provides housing services for families with children who live in Los Angeles County through the Homelight Family Living Program. Service includes apartments for transitional living from homelessness to permanent housing. The program can accommodate married couples with children as well as single men and single women with children. Children are eligible 17 years and younger; children who are 17 years old must be in school with plans for graduation. Applicants must be clean and sober for six months. The average length of stay is six to twelve months. There are no geographic restrictions.

The apartments are fully equipped with bathroom and kitchen facilities. Televisions are not permitted in the individual apartments, however, the shared family room contains a large television for everyone. Residents must meet the 8:00pm curfew; case management is required. All residents must find employment within 45 days and save 70% of their income which is returned to them upon leaving the program.

Application Procedure
A written referral from a case manager at a social service agency or other organization, such as DPSS, religious organization, domestic violence shelter or emergency shelter is required. Families that are accepted in the program are already in some type of case management program. The intake process may take up to 30-60 business days.
