Public Housing

Provider: LOS ANGELES COUNTY DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY

The agency provides housing services for older adults in Los Angeles county. Services include public housing for older adults age 62 and older. Age and eligibility restrictions apply; there are no geographic restrictions.

The Los Angeles County Development Authority (LACDA) has extended the registration period for seven site-based wait lists (SBWLs) for elderly families through June 30, 2022. This is not for the Section 8 Program.

An elderly family is a household whose head, co-head, spouse, or sole member is a person who is at least 62 years of age. It may include two or more persons who are at least 62 years of age living together, or one or more persons who are at least 62 years of age living with one or more live-in aides. Registrants may choose, based on eligibility, to register at one or all of the seven SBWLs. All applicants will be selected from each waiting list in order of admission preferences and then by date and time. Persons who are offered a unit from any one of the waiting lists but reject the unit, will be removed from all other selected SBWLs.
