Kindergartens

The center provides early childhood education for families with children ages three to five in the East Los Angeles area. Services include preschools. Age restrictions apply; there are no geographic restrictions.

Children must be five years old by September 1 to enroll in kindergarten, or be five years old between September 2 and December 2 to enroll in transitional kindergarten. Priority is given first to children within LA county protective services, next to students of the Los Angeles Community College District, then to faculty and staff; and finally, to the general community.

For the preschool program, children must attend at least two days per week and not be participating in another program at the same time. It is recommended that children also be fully toilet trained. Priority is given to children who are four years old, then to children who are three years old. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE Fees for unsubsidized child care programs are set on a sliding scale; call for details. Parents must meet monthly income guidelines and/or be a CalWORKs participant to be eligible for subsidized child care.
