Prenatal Care (Low Income)

The medical center provides health services for low-income people of all ages in Los Angeles county. Services include specialty women's health services and family and community medicine. Case/care management is also available for eligible pregnant women through the Mama's Neighborhood Program.  

Women's health services include abortions case/care management for pregnancy complications, contraception and prenatal care. 

Low-income individuals may qualify for services under the State Family PACT program. People whose income is less than 200% of the Federal Poverty Level are eligible. Services under Family PACT include a complete physical examination, STD testing and treatment, and contraceptive counseling and services. The Family PACT program serves females from 12 to 55 years, and males from 12 to 65 years. Reproductive health services include colposcopy; case specific pregnancy termination; mammography; and pap smears.

The Mama's Neighborhood program provides perinatal support for eligible moms who begin their prenatal care with Los Angeles County Health Services. It includes personalized care during pregnancy and up to one year after. The program includes pregnancy and childbirth education, baby care classes and parenting classes. Care coordinators provide support for mental health and stress, substance use, housing needs and general wellbeing.

Fees
Fees are set on a sliding scale; call for information. There are no fees to participate in the Mama's Neighborhood Program.

Los Angeles County residents may apply for low-cost or no-cost care through an Ability to Pay or Pre-Payment program; eligibility is based on income. Medi-Cal, Medicare and private insurance are accepted.

Eligible non-Los Angeles County residents who do not have insurance, are not eligible for Medi-Cal, and whose income is at or below 350% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines may apply for a Discount Payment Program.
