Senior Ride Programs

Provider: JEWISH FAMILY SERVICE OF LOS ANGELES - TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM OFFICE

The agency provides a transportation program for elderly and disabled people who live in parts of 90019, 90035, 90036 and 90045. Seniors who are age 65 and older are eligible. Disabled people who have AIDS, or are receiving treatments including chemotherapy, dialysis, or radiation, or who are blind or confined to a wheelchair are eligible. Services are provided for residents living in the Fairfax-Beverly, Mid-Wilshire and Pico-Robertson areas. Transportation is available to medical appointments, senior centers, JFS Eichenbaum Health Center, UCLA Clinic and shopping. Services are restricted to individuals in the service area.

Reservations for taxi trips may be made up to 24 hours in advance but no advance reservations are required. Reservations for lift van trips must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Application requirements include proof of age, residence, and a doctor's verification of disability.
