Prenatal Care
Provider: CHINATOWN SERVICE CENTER
The agency provides health services for people in the downtown area of Los Angeles and Chinatown. Services include child health disability prevention exams, community clinics, contraception, contract clinics, dental care, health/disability related counseling, HIV testing, obstetrics/gynecology and prenatal care. There are no geographic restrictions.
The community clinic provides CHDP exams, dental care, health screening/diagnostic services, family planning, gynecological care, HIV testing and prenatal care. Counseling is provided both before and after HIV tests.
Contract clinic services include outpatient health services for uninsured, low-income Los Angeles County residents of all ages, including General Relief recipients. There are two locations: the Chinatown site and a site in Alhambra. They provide primary general medical care. Applicant's household income must be at or below 134% of federal poverty guidelines, or who are GR recipients.
CHDP provides regular, preventive health assessments and developmental assessments for children from birth to age 21 who are Medi-Cal eligible and for children from birth through age 18 whose family income is less than 200% of the federal poverty level. The check-ups are offered at set intervals and may include the required Head Start or State Preschool and pre-first grade exams.
The agency is also a certified provider of Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program (CPSP), an elective Medi-Cal funded program which provides comprehensive prenatal care including evaluation, direct medical services; nutrition and health education; psychological counseling and social services if needed. LANGUAGES OTHER THAN ENGLISH Cantonese, Mandarin, Spanish, Vietnamese; some services are available in Lao.
