The association provides health services for people of all ages with diabetes in Los Angeles. Services include disease/disability information, health education, and voluntary health organizations related to diabetes. There are no geographic restrictions.

The agency funds research projects at local and national medical centers and hospitals and it also supports patient education programs about diabetes and insulin administration at more than 40 local hospitals. A year-round training program is offered for health care professionals which details the latest clinical information available about diabetes and its treatment. The agency raises funds for diabetes-related educational and research projects.

The "Diabetes Information and Action Line" (D.I.A.L) is a national network of information and referral telephone lines for people with diabetes and their loved ones. Operators can provide information about all aspects of diabetes management and refer callers to local diabetes programs and services.

The association provides information about educational seminars, events, printed materials, youth programs and hosts diabetes support groups for people of all ages on its website message board.
