Printed Materials (Diabetes)

Provider: BREAKTHROUGH T1D - SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA CHAPTER

The agency provides health services related to type 1 diabetes (T1D) for children, teens and adults who live in Los Angeles County. Services include disease/disability information, parent to parent networking, printed materials, research and voluntary health organizations. There are no geographic restrictions.

JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) is the leading organization funding T1D research. It collaborates with other partners and is the only organization with scientific resources, regulatory influence and a working plan to treat, prevent and eventually cure T1D.

The outreach program offers educational support to newly diagnosed children and adults; parent to parent peer support; family networking; Bag of Hope for newly diagnosed children; online support and information; education and research updates; school programs; and social events.
