The Emeritus Program is a specialized adult education program for senior citizens, age 55 and older. There are no geographic restrictions.

The program provides a wide range of non-credit courses at locations throughout Santa Monica and also offers special classes and activities for seniors who attend local adult day care centers or who are in convalescent homes. The classes include art, arts and crafts, music, business, home economics, literature, writing, health and fitness, human development, auto repair, nature study, theatre arts, political science, foreign languages, and classes aimed at personal growth. Classes in English and Spanish are available.

Programs also include post stroke exercise and speech therapy, and courses to help people to deal with a hearing impairment. In addition, the college sponsors a widow-to-widow group which assists recently widowed women and men with their grief and focusing on their future; see the separate entry. Emeritus also offers special events, activities and publishes a resource directory for seniors who live in the Santa Monica area.
