Recreational Activities/Sports (Developmental Disabilities)
The department provides a therapeutic recreation program which offers recreational and social opportunities for people who have all types of disabilities who live in Whittier and the surrounding communities.
A therapeutic recreation program is available for teens and adults age 14 and older, who are developmentally disabled. Activities include recreational social opportunities.
A swimming program, Halloween party and dance, and the Special Olympics program are available for people who are disabled. Services are supervised by a registered therapeutic recreation specialist.
