The agency provides environmental services in the state of California. Services include environmental hazards evaluation, environmental hazards information, public awareness/education and workshops/symposiums. There are no geographic restrictions.

The Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) provides environmental services for state, local government agencies and for people who live in the State of California.

The OEHHA develops and provides risk managers in state and local government agencies with toxicological and medical information relevant to decisions involving public health. This includes all board and departments of the California Environmental Protection Agency (Cal/EPA), the Department of Public Health, the Department of Food and Agriculture, the Office of Emergency Services, the Department of Fish and Game and the Department of Justice. The office also works with federal agencies, industry, scientific communities and the general public on issues of the environment as well as public health. The agency does not accept requests from private citizens for environmental assessments.

The office provides public awareness/education information in the form of press releases, media and health advisories, public meeting/notices and fact sheets.
