The department provides services for veterans and their dependents who live in Yolo County. Services include specialized information and referral, veteran benefits assistance, and veteran burial benefits. There are no geographic restrictions.
The department advocates on behalf of veterans to ensure they receive the benefits to which they are entitled. It also provides special outreach to seniors and veterans who have disabilities. Services include individual advocacy, claims filing, benefits counseling and referral to assist veterans, their dependents and survivors. They assist in obtaining all benefits outlined in federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and policies; for example, VA medical care, compensation for service-related disabilities, pension benefits and burial rights.
