Disability Related Transportation
Provider: CITY OF LOMITA COMMUNITY SERVICES - LOMITA DIAL-A-RIDE
The program provides transportation services for seniors age 65 and older and for people of drivable age who have disabilities which prevent them from driving a car and who reside in the city of Lomita. Services include disability related transportation and senior ride programs. There are geographic restrictions.
The Dial-a-Ride program is a swipe card program and provides demand-response transportation. Each ride credit is good for one-way ride in the service area by Administrative Services Co-Op Cab Company for ambulatory riders. Wheelchair-users may use the service provided they can get in and out of their wheelchair unassisted or, they may bring along an attendant to assist them provided they have a letter from their doctor stating this as a requirement. Wheelchair-bound individuals who cannot self-transfer or transfer with an attendant can use vouchers for Dial-a-Taxi using the same contact information and restrictions.
