Substance Use Disorder Counseling

The center provides mental health services for people who live in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties. Services include outpatient and residential treatment programs which include in-person crisis intervention, general counseling for adults, community counseling services and wraparound facilitation/community support services for referred families. There are no geographic restrictions.

Outpatient services include anger management for court-ordered individuals, group substance abuse counseling, individual counseling, family counseling and twelve-step mutual support groups.

Community counseling services are available for adults and youth. Services include individual, conjoint and family therapy. The focus of treatment may be on a wide variety of concerns including but not limited to anxiety, anger, depression, family problems, grief, identity issues, relationship issues and trauma. For the Antelope Valley and Youth Services - Lancaster site there is a waiting list for individual adult counseling and conjoint adult counseling.

Special services for women and their children include day treatment, residential and outpatient programs that focus on women's issues. Child care is provided and the agency offers a therapeutic nursery for children. Services may include case management for women and their children, family counseling, as well as treatment of eating disorders, sexual abuse and female victims of domestic violence.

The Wraparound facilitation/community support program is provided for court-referred youth in probation or in DCFS child abuse or foster care programs. Wraparound is conducted by a multi-displinary team consisting of a social worker case manager, a therapist and a parent "Partner". Sessions are conducted in the home and may involve just the child or the whole family as needed. The program accepts youth from age 8 to 18, and may continue for one year or longer. The service area is LA County SPAs 1 and 2. Services are provided at the Tarzana site and Lancaster youth location.
