Artist Services

The agency provides cultural enrichment for youth and adults in Los Angeles County. Services include art service in the form of an artist-in-residence program for artists with 3 to 5 years experience in their medium at a professional level and photography classes for seniors. There are no geographic restrictions.

The Youth First Artist-In-Residence program coordinates with schools and community based organizations to allow professional artists to enter a site and work with the youth there in various forms of art for up to thirteen weeks. Instruction can be in creative writing, music, dance, theater arts, or visual arts.

Artists are screened and chosen based upon need and based upon their ability to understand the social needs of the target community. Artists who participate provide customized, long-term, quality, multi-disciplinary workshops designed to appeal to the widest possible range of youth within the designated community.

The agency also provides fine arts photography through our Theatre Of Hearts Creative Aging Artist-In-Residence Program at various senior centers and affordable housing facilities countywide.
