Volunteer Opportunities

Provider: BOYS AND GIRLS CLUBS OF SAN FERNANDO VALLEY

The program provides youth services for low-income children age 6 to 17 who live in the San Fernando Valley. Services include arts and craft instruction, boys/girls club, career awareness, music instruction, recreational activities/sports, tutoring services and volunteer opportunities. Age restrictions apply; there are no geographic restrictions.

The program provides a variety of recreational, social and educational services, such as games, sports, music, arts, crafts, cultural outings and summer camp; career and employment guidance; citizenship and leadership activities; outdoor and environmental education programs; and tutoring. All services are designed to provide positive learning experiences for participants, contribute to the development of a positive self-image and self-esteem, and promote healthy social interaction.

The program also accepts parent volunteers and other community members that may want to be part of the Community Advisory Council.

Fees
Club membership dues are $26 per year. Winter Camp fees are $50 per week; call for information. Financial aid is available for qualifying families; participation must be for 4 weeks, otherwise scholarship would be voided.
