Who VECTA serves:

The Veteran Career & Employment Transition Alliance (VECTA) provides services to anyone living in Los Angeles who has ever served in the U.S. Military regardless of the length of service, gender, combat history, active status or discharge status

Program Design:

VECTA identifies the unique employment challenges that veterans face upon transitioning out of the military, and has created a collaborative system to address these challenges. Using the collective impact framework, VECTA has established a formal partnership between seven key veteran employment service organizations:

The VECTA partner organizations all provide employment services to veterans in Los Angeles with the exception of USC MVP, who serves as the administrative lead for the program.  The administrative support for the program includes facilitation of collaboration, providing technology and communications support, data collection, reporting and handling of logistical details needed for the daily coordination of the program.

Technology that Connects and Coordinates Care:

VECTA uses a technology system developed and maintained by 211 LA especially to facilitate and track collaborative care, when multiple organizations are providing an individual or family with different services. 211 LA’s CareLinQ software allows for a coordinated referral system across all seven agencies, while tapping into the power of the 211 LA Community Resource Database for providing referrals from approximately 50,000 curated and updated service listings. The CareLinQ tool enables VECTA to facilitate inter-agency case management, data sharing, and reduce duplication of services by veteran service organizations. This model also has the potential to be used to address veterans’ other critical needs, such as housing and health services.
