Youth Development
Provider: AMERICAN RED CROSS - GREATER LONG BEACH AND SOUTH BAY CHAPTER
The agency provides youth services for adolescents, age 13 through 18, within the greater Long Beach/Harbor area. Services include youth development opportunities. There are no geographic restrictions.
Participating youth meet monthly to determine how they will staff Red Cross events scheduled for the community; create their own special events for after-school programs at local elementary schools; teach first aid, water safety, fire safety and disaster preparedness at after-school programs, and at the Long Beach facility; and participate in other community service projects. The program is an opportunity for youth to develop leadership and communication skills.
