The agency provides health services related to liver disease, including hepatitis for patients, the public, physicians and healthcare workers, nationwide. Services include disease/disability information, health related advocacy groups, health/disability related support groups, research, subject specific public awareness/education and voluntary health organizations. There are no geographic restrictions.
The agency facilitates, advocates and promotes education, support and research for the prevention, treatment and cure of liver disease which includes viral Hepatitis.
The Love Your Liver Program is an interactive liver wellness education program targeted to elementary, middle, and high school students. The program educates students about the liver and the actions they can take to maximize their liver health and prevent liver disease. It can be tailored to elementary, middle, and high school students in the school and after-school settings.
The Treatment Choices Initiative (TCI) is an education program targeted to individuals who have or are at high risk of hepatitis C infection. The program educates participants about the liver, liver disease, specifically hepatitis C, treatment options and other disease management strategies. The program also provides perspectives from hepatitis C positive individuals and additional support.
The Fatty Liver Information Program (FLIP) is an education effort targeted to the general public, as well as people with liver disease. The program facilitates a greater understanding of the liver and its functions, discusses the development and progression of fatty liver disease and offers a multi-disciplinary approach for maximizing liver health.
