Food Collection Volunteer Opportunities

The agency provides volunteer opportunities for people to provide food collection and food distribution services for participating non-profit food agencies. The volunteer should be 18 or older. The program focuses on the greater Long Beach area; however the agency serves all of Los Angeles and Orange counties.

The duties of a volunteer range from the collection of donated canned goods and other food items from participating grocery stores and restaurants to picking fruit through the food gleaning program, to delivering the food directly to one of the participating non-profit agencies. There are also clerical volunteer opportunities to handle the logistics and tracking of collection and delivery within the daily delivery schedules.
