Behavior Modification (Youth)

Provider: CHILD AND FAMILY GUIDANCE CENTER - NORTHRIDGE

The agency provides mental health welfare-to-work support services for the children, from birth to age 18, and families of TANF recipients or people who are eligible to receive CalWORKs and live in the Antelope Valley area (SPA 1) of Los Angeles County and the San Fernando Valley. There are income and geographic restrictions.

Medi-Cal eligible youth, 0 to 18 years of age, may receive developmental assessment services and behavior modification therapy through the CHDP program.

If the child of a CalWORKs recipient has a mental or emotional disorder which constitutes a barrier to the parent's employment or further participation in the CalWORKs program, the program provides mental health evaluation, child guidance, family counseling and parenting skills development under the same conditions as the recipient herself. Services may include individual and family therapy; medication monitoring; and psychiatric case management. An assessment for medical conditions which may aggravate the mental/emotional condition and appropriate referrals are also made.

Child care is provided and transportation assistance such as van pick-up, taxi vouchers or bus fare are provided on a case-by-case basis.
