Sign Language Interpretation

The center provides vocational education for people, 18 and older, who have physical disabilities. Students who are blind or deaf or who have orthopedic disabilities are eligible. There are no geographic restrictions.

The Computer Operator for Adults with Disabilities training lasts 6 to 12 months, and includes weekly pre-employment skills training such as interviewing techniques, job search skills, and resume writing.

The services for Disabled Students may include signing interpreters, note taking, tutoring, readers, and adaptive aids. Adaptive equipment is provided, which includes speech-adapted and large print computers, full access, adjustable tables and chairs, and closed circuit televisions. Pre-requisites include a 6th grade level reading and math assessment, and typing speed of 25 wpm. The occupations include computer operator, customer service representative, general office assistant, file clerk and receptionist.
