Friendly Telephoning Volunteer Opportunities

The agency provides volunteer opportunities for adults age 18 and older in the California area. Services include friendly telephoning volunteer opportunities. There are no geographic restrictions.
Volunteers help provide callers with emotional support, reassurance, crisis intervention, elder abuse prevention, well-being checks, and information and referral.
All volunteers must attend comprehensive on-going training on topics including crisis management and mandated reporting, suicide assessments, cultural diversity awareness, active listening, emotional support and dealing with challenging call scenarios. Volunteers are also trained to talk to people living with physical and/or mental health conditions.
